Bathukamma:
A Celebration of Culture, Nature, and Togetherness

Bathukamma is a vibrant floral festival of Telangana, celebrating nature, femininity, and tradition. Coinciding with Durga Navratri, it honors Goddess Gauri and signifies renewal and prosperity. Women create stunning flower arrangements using Marigold, Lotus, Chrysanthemum, and Gunugu, singing and dancing around them before immersing them in water as a tribute to nature.
On October 6, 2024, the TEA student group hosted a spirited Bathukamma celebration, starting with a traditional pooja, followed by energetic folk dances, games, quizzes, and a potluck feast, bringing students and the community together.
More than a festival, Bathukamma symbolizes heritage, unity, and eco-consciousness. Events like these keep traditions alive, ensuring that the festival’s essence continues to flourish in modern times. 🌸✨
